Wayzata Boys Basketball Association (WBBA) understands that special circumstances may occur in which a player cannot participate in their registered sport or event. After a program registration has closed, no refunds or cancellations will be given except in the case of injury or similar extenuating circumstances which prevents practice and game participation, and then only by approval of the Wayzata Boys Basketball Association Board of Directors. All cancelled registrations are subject to a $25 administration fee.
No refunds will be given in the case where program sessions must be canceled due to weather, facilities cancellations or other situations beyond WBBA’s control.
When requesting a refund, please email info@wayzatabasketball.org and include your player's name, grade, your name, your address, city, state, zip, phone number, email address, and reason you are requesting a refund.
Camps & Clinics
For camps and clinics, a full refund (minus administrative costs) will be issued for requests received no less than 30 days prior to the start of the camp or clinic. A partial refund of 50% (minus administrative costs) will be issued for refund requests received no less than 15 days prior to the start of the camp or clinic. No refunds will be considered with 14 days or less before the start of the camp or clinic.

In the case of illness and injury, requests are considered only when accompanied with a doctor’s note and e-mail/letter requesting the exception - the $25.00 administration fee will apply. No requests will be considered after the first day of camp.
If a player is not behaving in accordance with camp safety, policies and expectations, the player may be dismissed from the remainder of the session(s) without refund.

Refunds processing guidelines:
Any late fees that may be charged are non‐refundable, NO EXCEPTIONS.
When you register your son for any of our WBBA offerings you will be required to sign this document about good sportsmanship:
I hereby pledge to provide positive support, care, and encouragement for my son, the above named player, participating in boys’ basketball following this Code of Ethics:
To participate in a WBBA program, a player must attend a school (public or private) located within the Wayzata School District boundaries or have a home address in the Wayzata School District and either 1) is home/online schooled, or 2) attends a private/charter school. Exceptions to this rule may be granted by the WBBA Board of Directors.
For Travel, the MYAS requires players to complete either the Player Transfer Request Form or the Residency Exception Form to request a waiver to the eligibility requirements.
The Player Transfer Request Form is used if you want to play in an association that borders the school district where the player attends school. (form found below)
The Residency Exception Form is used if you want to play in an association that does not border the school district where the player attends school. (form found below)
All WBBA teams and programs are organized based on grade levels. Our policy is that players must participate at their grade level. "Playing up" is not permitted without advance approval of the WBBA Board of Directors. Exceptions to this rule are rare.
Violations to this policy may result in dismissal from the program without refund.
It is the policy of the WBBA that players will play in their grade. The WBBA reserves the right to review exceptions to this policy on an individual basis.
If a player is unable to participate in Travel tryouts due to illness or injury, a parent or guardian must contact the Travel Director prior to the first tryout session. Players unable to participate will be excused upon submitting a doctor's or school nurse's note describing the player's limitations.
A player who misses tryouts due to illness or injury, but was on a Travel team the prior year, may still be assigned to a team. The primary criteria is the player's prior season; specifically, the head coach's year-end evaluation of that player. If no prior-year Travel evaluation is available for an injured player, placement is addressed by the WBBA Travel Committee on an individual basis.
The WBBA Travel Committee reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to determine a player's team placement for the upcoming season.
The WBBA has established the playing time policy for all Travel program players to average a minimum of 40 percent of available game time. The playing time policy may vary depending on the player's understanding of the game, attentiveness during practice, attendance, and disciplinary issues.
